 Wednesday 20th September, 2006 saw members of the co-ordinating group for the pastoral plan meeting at Mellifont Abbey in Collon.The day began with a beautiful meditation led by Fr. Declan O'Loughlin, which gave group members time for reflection and grounding. This was followed by a period of personal reflection, which was very welcomed considering the busy and hectic schedules many find themselves working to. The Archbishop then led Eucharistic Celebration. After which a wholesome and satisfying meal was provided by the Monks. We then engaged in a reflective process on the progress of the Diocesan Pastoral Plan – a chance for all to focus on the highs and lows which have occurred over the last year in planning for the Diocesan Pastoral Project. It was facilitated very ably by Mr. Martin Much was gained from this day and valuable insights have given some focus that will enable the work of the Pastoral Plan to move forward. Among other things to be worked on in the next year it was agreed: • To develop collaboration between clergy and laity: • To develop a mission statement for the co-ordinating group of the pastoral plan: • To build links between all working groups.
