Celebrating Sunday: creating participative Sunday liturgies PDF Print E-mail
This five session training programme is aimed at exploring ways of creating inspirational Sunday liturgies.
The course includes the following themes:

  • The structure of the Sunday Mass
  • The foundations and principles of liturgy
  • Aesthetics and creativity in liturgy
  • Planning the Sunday Liturgy
  • Functioning as a liturgy group

As a part of the programme the use of music in the Sunday liturgy is explored, there are opportunities to participate in creative liturgy and resources and ideas are shared.

The training could be offered over a weekend in a parish. While this course will have something for everyone who participates it will be of particular value to parishes that have a liturgy group in place or are considering forming a liturgy group.

We have offered this programme over five evenings in five centres in the diocese. The participants said:

Excellent, instructive, informative and relaxed. Drogheda

I liked all of it. I made the effort to come every week despite competing events. Mullaghbawn

It reawakened and enlightened and challenged me about liturgy. Mount Oliver

I now see the possibility of forming a parish liturgy group, something we haven't had before. Armagh

The world is our oyster as far as possibilities are concerned. It was good that our Parish Priest came to the training as this will create a 'oneness' or unity of beliefs. Carlow watch out! Dungannon
