Failte, Welcome

Welcome to the website of the Office of Pastoral Renewal and Family Ministry in the Archdiocese of Armagh.

On Tuesday, 12 January 2010, an earthquake struck Haiti killing many thousands. In response, Pope Benedict XVI  called on "the generosity of all people" to support those worst affected. He added that "the Catholic Church will not fail to move immediately, through her charitable institutions, to meet the most immediate needs of the population". Trócaire is the official overseas development agency of the Catholic Church in Ireland and they desperately need your assistance to help the people of Haiti. To donate, please call 1850 408 408/ 0800 912 1200 or log on to www.trocaire.org.

Thinking of what to do for Lent?  We have two new online courses with Boston College this Lent.  Easy to access and you get to decide how much time you give each week.  One of the courses will be of specific interest to parents as it looks at sharing faith with children.  The other explores Christian faith and moral character - so if you want to reflect on how to live life well, this is the course for you.  More information here.

Br Sofield's address (in four parts) to parish pastoral councils is available on the Armagh Archdiocese YouTube site.  More Loughlin Sofield videos on the work and role of parish pastoral councils are available here. A review of Loughlan and Carroll's recent book, Facing Forgiveness, can be found here.
