Welcome to the website of the Office of Pastoral Renewal and Family Ministry in the Archdiocese of Armagh.

 

Soil for the Seed at Benburb Priory. This is a Theology course run by the Office of Pastoral Renewal and Family Ministry. It will start again on Monday September 9th at 7.30 p.m.  There are no assignments or exams and you can attend individual modules or you can attend the whole year.  There are still some places available. There are a lot of new programmes, groups etc happening in the Diocese at the momentCalled and Gifted is a new programme that will be launched in the Archdiocese in Autumn 2013. A new group called "The 12" was commissioned recently. The Armagh Eucharistic Congress Committee have continued to meet and have a few ideas for 2013.

 

THEOLOGY

A key element in the  pastoral plan for the archdiocese is the ongoing development of adult religious education. In addition to the formation and training of parish pastoral councils and pastoral area resource teams, the diocese has invested major resources in theology courses. It is vitally important for the future well being of our diocese that we develop an articulate and informed laity to complement the great work being done by our priests and religious

 

Go Into My Vineyard at Dromantine

Over forty students are entering year four of their Diploma Course in theology. They will be joined this year by a new cohort of forty more particpants most of whom are from the archdiocese. These men and women will be a huge resource to the parishes when they have completed their studies.Unfortunately, there are no more places available for this years intake.

 

 

Integrating Life and Faith

One of the recommendations from the Diocesan Survey of 2012 was that we should try to provide more grassroot theology. In response to this, OPRFM in partnership with the Faith Formation and Training Commission, has joined with the Archdiocese of Liverpool to introduce a programme entitled "Integrating Life and Faith". It will begin in late September with about twenty particpants and we will offer it more widely across the diocese in September 2013. There are a few places available for this year.
