Failte, Welcome

Welcome to the website of the Office of Pastoral Renewal and Family Ministry in the Archdiocese of Armagh.

July 2010 in the Office of Pastoral Renewal and Family Ministry will be remembered as the month in which we visited Australia and New Zealand, participated in the Pray 2010 conference in Brisbane and learned a lot about what some of the dioceses are doing with regard to pastoral planning.  The experience of the conference aslo helped with our preparations for Spiritfest 2011 to be held in Armagh from 1-3 July 2011. Learing about the development of pastoral areas in New Zealand was a very fruitful experience and can read all about it by clicking here.  You may hear more of our reflections in time.

The new Diocesan Pastoral Council will initially have eight commissions.  They are:
  • Care for priests
  • Christian formation
  • Faith formation and training
  • Justice, peace and development
  • Liturgy
  • Mission and ecumenism
  • Prayer and spirituality
  • Youth

According to our poll faith formation and training is the area that interests you most. If you haven't already voted you can do so on the right hand panel.

We are now available on Twitter.  You can find us at http://twitter.com/oprfm.

Br Sofield's address (in four parts) to parish pastoral councils is available on the Armagh Archdiocese YouTube site.  More Loughlin Sofield videos on the work and role of parish pastoral councils are available here. A review of Loughlan and Carroll's recent book, Facing Forgiveness, can be found here.
